VELASCO & HU IS A CREATIVE DUO BASED IN MADRID, FORMED BY CARLOS VELASCO (MADRID, 1981) AND KATE HU (TAIPEI, 1982).
Coming from two worlds and different backgrounds, we love to fuse cultures and disciplines to bring artistic ideas into life and let our creativity go beyond boundary!
We constantly play visual games to create eye-catching images across genres, meanwhile taking care of every creation process.
With an aesthetic and modern approach, we aim to empower the subjects we shoot, tell the stories behind, and immerse the audience into the mood that we set up.
We also make films, from commercials, short films, fashion films to documentaries. We walk between reality and fiction.
Our films have been officially selected and screened at several international short film festivals: Aesthetica Short Film Festival in York, Barcelona Fashion Film Festival, Dansmuseet in Stockholm, Lisbon InShadow ScreenDance, Berlin Commercial Film Festival, NotodoFilmFest in Matadero Madrid, Galacticat in Tàrrega, etc.
